RAM is one of the most famous Haitian roots music band with a strong carnival tradition. This is one of their first carnival song. 1993 was not an easy year. It was during the military coup against Aristide and the ferry Neptune had recently sunken killing hundreds. This is probably why the song is dedicated to “Agwe” who is the deity of the sea in the voodoo mythology.
