Katherine Dunham was the black American dancer and anthropologist who came to Haiti for a short visit and fell in love with what she called “island possessed”. She would make the country her second home and also buy an old mansion and the associated property. Her house would later become “Habitation Leclerc”, at the time one of the most popular hotel in the region. More than buying land, Katherine built strong ties with the people of Haiti, being strongly involved in their culture and religion.

Directed by Richard Senecal.
